Advice please! - Call of Duty 4 Empty Advice please! - Call of Duty 4

I played and loved MW2 but I also want to play it's predecessor.

I want it for the story mode, not just the multiplayer but I'm also interested in playing on different maps with different weapons etc.

My question is, should I just try and get it as cheap as possible or should I shell out £17 for the GOTY edition with the extra maps?

Yo Conor, first of all. COD4 is far more better than MW2 in my opinion. You can pretty much get the game pre-owned for a £10 now, took its time Wink I'm not sure whether or not buying second-hand will let you get the variety map pack. I guess shelling out for £17 could be the wise decision. I would firstly check the price of the game on various sites before making a commitment to buy from a site, when you could get it cheaper elsewhere.

Xbox or PS3 by the way?

It's for PS3. Yeah, I hear from others that its better than MW2 which means I should love it.
Problem is, the preowned ones wont have the code that you need for the extra maps (for the GOTY edition at least)

Okay, I've had a look on amazon as you suggested and I can get it used for £12 which I'm happy with. There's probably not going to be a map code in it but I'm not bothered about paying a fiver for them since they were supposed to be a free bonus anyway.

Thanks for the help!

Ah nice! I had COD4 on the PS3 and I brought the map pack when it first come out, which was £7.99 probably around their or nearer to a tenner.

The whole Nuclear weapon killed it for me. When I first witnessed it in the multiplayer. Probably a month into having the game and well into my prestiage first rank. I quitted and never played MW2 again because of that, plus the over use of the choppers and etc. Just killed it for me. COD4 had it in small doses and tonnes better. I may even re-consider buying it again to be honest.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The simpler multiplayer is something I prefered in WaW so I should enjoy this.

I presume there will still be plenty of people playing online?

CoD4 is still currently the 6th most played game on Xbox Live (From MajorNelsons blog), so I'd assume it can't be much different on the Playstation 3 Very Happy

I thought you didn't like CoD because of how it's all about "GUNS AND EXPLOSIONS LAWL"

I'd get Call Of Duty 4 again, but I wouldn't waste my money on it because I've played through it, the campaign isn't seriously special, just longer than MW2.
