So anyone else playing it, finished it, thoughts please and try not to spoiler Very Happy

I've been playing this. I completed the first, but couldn't import my character due to not having the save anymore. Still only on disc 1, because it's my Brothers game and he's on disc 2. If I rush through Disc 1 to quickly, I'll need to go on Disc 2 whilst my brother is still on disc 2. So I'm making the first last as long as possible.

lol, can't remember at which point you have to swap discs.

Can't say how much I love this game, can't wait till my Birthday so I can give it a real good shakedown and take my Level 30 Vanguard thru from the beginning Very Happy

Can see me playing this well into the future just so I can experience all the endings, it really is worth playing thru multiple times Very Happy

It would be better to play the first before the 2nd.
Tis what I did Very Happy

It works out better that way as you can import your character from the first to the second. Carrying over all choices made throughout.

You can probably find it on the cheap or buy the game on Demand like what I did...Cost me £19.99 though...

Makes it easier lol, as depending on the level you reach in the 1st it gives you items and a few level upgradres Very Happy.

I've just started my 3rd playthru of the original to level up my l59 Shepard Very Happy

Here's hoping for an online multiplayer option in the 3rd game Very Happy

Well I have only just started Mass Effect 2 and I'm not a massive fan of it tbh.
I might complete it but I'm still trying to get through Dead Space.

Well before I start, I thought the controls were better than the first one and getting from A to B was far better.

But....

I felt the searching planets for resources was incredibly boring, they could have mixed it up with a puzzle element or something.
I also found the side missions to be pretty much the same thing, where one of your team needed your help on a planet.
I also found the fighting rather boring as well, as again most of it tended to be the same.
Could have made use of the enviorments more (similar to Gears of War).
I think with this game, the makers should have asked themselves "Is this gonna be an RPG or a shooter" as from playing this that element doesn't work for this.
It worked for Borderlands mind but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
A lot of sites have given this a 10/10 etc but it's a long way from that, more like 8.8/10 if anything.

P.S
I did Dead Space after and it was top notch

Post by Ben64 Tue Jun 01, 2010 6:25 pm

I'm really looking forward to Mass Effect 3, but I've played the last two on PC, so at somepoint I'm going to try and get both on Xbox for cheap so I can import my saves and enjoy all of them properly without my laptop killing the resolution and the framerate. By the start of next year they should be going real cheap, might even catch a bargain in the January sales. Very Happy

On that note, i'm really looking forward to what ME3 might have in-store and whether they'll be a trailer at E3 *fingers crossed*.

I'm prediction an ME3 trailer at this years E3, honestly. The gap between the first 2 was big because they developed a new engine for it (Or worked heavily on editing an existing one). I think ME3 is just going to use ME2's engine with some slight modifications, as it was an absolute amazing engine. This should mean we'll get ME3 quite quickly, like next year Razz
