OMG! TEH WII HAS IT ! -- Tatsunoko VS Capcom! --

Hell Yeah! I'm so happy about this, and it was about time the wii grabbed it's own huge fighting game title '' DON'T COUNT BRAWL HERE ''

as the Title shows it pretty well, Tatsunoko VS CAPCOM ( Known as TvC ) is a 2D crossover fighting game for the Wii, featuring all our favorite characters from various series of both compagnys, enough for the short summary, any of you guys planning to buy this ?

Well, if this does well, they say that SFIV will be out on the Wii aswell.. Joyy ^_^

As awesome as this game looks, I already know it's going to end up bombing. A fighting game on a system that few fighting game fans play fighting games on, clever move Capcom. There's also the fact that nobody outside of Japan, except for a few select individuals, knows who or what the characters opposing Capcom are.

I din't know the existence of Tatsunoko before this Crossover game.

Tatsuno gained Popularity out of this.. SO MUCH popularity!

SFIV on Wii would be lolworthy.

I'd probably get it, aslong as you don't have to like punch using the Wii Remote, because I'd probably end up hitting my brother.

Ehhhh played the Japanese version, it's just another fighting game. Everyone should go back to Mortal Kombat and SFII.

IT IS! But still, I'm sure this game will be worth a proper play when it's in my language. I'm just getting a bit tired of all the mechanically decent fighting games simply being 'throw fan service character A and fan service character B into ring, watch them knock seven shades out of each other, rinse and repeat', more original titles like BlazBlue should be coming out.

I'm not a fan of fighting games. This game first caught my attention because of the Phoenix Wright rumour. That turned out to be false, but this game still sorta interests me. I might get it after I get the other games I want.

I can name quite a few people who are familiar with Tatsunoko's properties. Battle of the Planets/G-Force/Gatchaman are extremely popular in America. There were a great many American fans screaming for this game to get released in America, and what was holding it back initially was the very fact that American companies held some of the distribution rights for the characters. Capcom wasn't even PLANNING on releasing it in America initially, so yeah, I'd say it was the fans who pressured them into doing so.

And then there are the people who know Speed Racer; then there's Tekkaman, Yatterman, Robotech, Karas... oh, and Tatsunoko co-produced a little series with Gainax, I'm not sure if you've heard about it, but it happens to be called Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Neo-Human Casshern also happens to have influenced the franchise you know as Mega Man, so... I'd say Tatsunoko's a pretty big deal here. If you're not familiar with one of the properties, you're gonna be familiar with another. Just look for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom on YouTube, there are a TON of people who were interested in the game when it was just announced to be ported to Wii in Japan with no hint of American release.

Dan, Dan, Dan. As a whole, how large a market does this game have in the west then? Considerably smaller than other fighting game franchise.

Also, I live in the UK, I never heard of these series (except Gatchaman and such) until you mentioned them just now.

Also, are an Eva characters even IN TvC? No, it's Gainax property, not Tatsunoko.

I was reffering to the general market, not the hardcore audience which know of Tatsunoko's works. I was also reffering to the Wii market, which isn't that big on fighting games as well.

Chances are, you're going to go into a lot of work to try and shoot what I just said down again, so this is the last I'm going in on this.

I may get this at somepoint. It's not a high priority due to the horrible online structure Nintendo are using and the fact, again, I don't recognise a great deal of Tatsunoko's properties.

Edit: I've checked my budget and I do have enough to grab the game fairly cheap on ShopTo. Reckon I should?

The capcom side of things is what will make me want this. I push it into my Dads direction as he does like Street Fighter believe it or not. Hes usually Zangief and when my Dad gets use to him again. There is no way I am going to defeat him!

Looks like sales of this in the UK failed.

Wasn't even in the top 40 and is only #6 in the Wii Only chart...

Then how come ShopTo has zero stock of it right now when it was released a few days ago?

The result of one shop is nowhere near enough to provide evidence of it doing well Amazon, Play and GAME all have it in stock still.

Well they aren't selling it the cheapest (I think, didn't check them all) with free first class postage. In fact, Play.com doesn't even HAVE a first class option last time I checked.

I'm more worried about the controls. If you can use the GC controller it'll be ok. But random stick waggling and this suck.

Simplified Wii Remote controls plus Classic Controller controls I've heard, but GameCube Controllers are supported I believe...

Not that you'd actually want to use a GameCube controller on a game based upon Street Fighter... Unless the controls are somewhat different.

Why not? Street fighter worked on Nes and Snes, GC controllers are like that just more comfortable.
