Pokemon Heart Gold / Soul Silver

The arrival of the latest Pokemon handheld games is nearly upon us! The US and UK launch of the games are set for March and this thread is here purely to discuss the games as we get closer to release, and to discuss the games. I warn that as the thread goes on, there's a chance that there could be spoilers. However if you've played the original games in the series (Gold & Silver) then you probably wouldn't be spoiled too much. Just use the spoiler tags provided if you do have a spoiler..

So, firstly, who's picking these games up and which version?

Pre-ordered SoulSilver, with Pokewalker, ShopTo, £26.

I shall be buying Soul Silver. On release date? I don't know. There's so much coming out in March, I dunno what I should get on release and what I should wait for. (I can get 2 game in March, out of the 4 I want coming out then).

Sadly, I'm not as hyped as I feel I should be. A Large reason is that I've been avoiding information of the game like the plague. After my massive regret of knowing everything about D/P/P before the games came out >_>

Free first class, absastonking effing reliable. If you order something one day before 5:30 pm, you will get it the next day.

I've pre-ordered Soul Silver. Silver was probably my favourite Pokemon Game of all time, so I'm really chuffed it's back on the DS!

As if you guys are just go to PlayAsia! 14 days earlier than the UK release, that's enough time to complete story mode if you go CRAAAAAAAZY.

My only worry is if they decide to cut out the game corner due to UK gambling laws. They did it in Platinum, even though they still kept some gambling in the Battle Frontier >_>'

I am hoping that due to it been just two weeks, Nintendo won't have time to remove it.

I just can't wait for these games, Gold/Silver were my all time favourite Pokemon games, so many memories here. When I knew these were coming, I joygasmed. The memories...heh. I can't wait.

I never really bothered with the game corners anyway, doesn't bother me a great deal at all.

As for nostalgia, it won't have nearly as much nostalgic impact as FireRed and LeafGreen did for me.

Game corner rocked! The new theme rocks too! It's a great example of how much effort when into the soundtrack.

I disagree, K_Z, I think there was a fair bit of disappointment from real retrocore communities about FRLG, and it seems to me like Game Freak have really pulled out all the stops here; the first time I walk through New Bark Town again is going to be a pretty special moment.

I'm looking forward to these games. Gold & Silver is more my type of game to be honest than Diamond, Pearl, Ruby and Sapphire. Pokemon; Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold n Silver are my favourites. Knowing me I will end up purchasing both as it could keep playing on the DS for ages!

The thing is, New Bark town has changed a bit, it looks and feels different. The music track for New Bark Town is different, although seems to reflect the town better.

I said for me, not the general crowd...

I really do prefer the original generation to the second one. I just wished all the effort put into HGSS also went into FRLG...

Even if Ruby/Sapphire got a remake, there's no way it'd be as good as the previous two, I would want Hoenn to be included as part of a game, maybe gen 5?

Silver and Sapphire (besides Yellow), were my favourite Pokemon games of all time, it would be a dream come true ^_^

What are your thoughts on the Pokewalker guys? Will you be using it? Or are you an old fart like me and would be embarassed to wear it?
