So Project Natal (not the final name) will be launched worldwide in October. Who will be picking this up?

I doubt it, the idea for gaming for me is after a rough day I can chill and play a game, detach my brain so to speak. Not start flapping my arms around and having to interact.

Seems to me like a gimmicky thing that'll be a laugh at parties, but not much else.

I expect they will call it Natal in the end, simply because they have nothing better to call it. Mind you, they'll probably call it something shockingly uninspiring like Interact Cam.

My thinking is this. Natal won't be half the success Microsoft hope. Why? Because there's absolutely no feedback. It's not even like the Wii, that's coordinated arm flailing because you need the remote. Natal just uses full-body flailing (Read as: failing). Based on the live demo at last years E3, the tracking is poor, the motion control is poorly implemented, and the only game you'll be able to play on it is where you hang around with some little kid called Milo. It's almost paedophilic.

Haha now hang on a moment Owen, you have to understand that the demo was shown last year, i'm sure they've had plenty of time to tweek it. The Milo demo is merely that, a demo. I'm sure they'll be a number of games like this to work, and we'll see how it works out. No one will know how well Natal will do until it's released. I'll buy it if it's reasonably priced (Under £50)

After watching this video

Wow, Natal looks great: http://bit.ly/chdOOm. Really look forward to playing it in our 20 meter long living room. Oh.

I'm wondering if this will fail badly...

I'm lucky to have a large open space next to me so it could work for me...

I'm wondering why NGamer are showing this O_o

Anyway, I'd like to get Natal, but I think it'll be really expensive. The price for it might equal the Wii, which comparably doesn't look too great.

When Natal releases, I'll be at Uni. No chance in hell of Natal working in a small space like my living accomodation. Thus, no chance of me buyin it.

I'm still undecided on Natal (or whatever it'll be called). Hopefully they'll give it a decent price and games. I'll wait until E3 before making my decision..

Well, Joy-ride is the first launch game for Project Natal. I hope this doesn't mean its going to be just for Project Natal. It was suppose to come to Live for free.

Yeah if it's 50 quid I will consider it, but if costs the same as a Wii...pass for me.

Been rumoured to be retailed at £100 notes. Though, I'm awaiting final confirmation from MS before anything. If you watched the 13th episode I think of the Gadget show. They go to this technology convention at the NEC I think, and they played Natal in like this Streets Of Rage type of game. I wouldn't mind playing that, but make sure your curtains are shut in your bedroom Project Natal / Kinect Icon_razz

Yeah I saw that but I would rather get a Wii with with Wii sports for 130 quid tbh. I might wait until more games come out for it, if it is launched 100 quid or more. But like you said Scott, we will have to wait and see mate.

If Natal is £100 then I have to consider if there are going to be any decent games at launch for me to want to buy it..

This is true. I'd be surprised if there was nothing on Natal during E3. I expect there'll be some stuff on release, maybe a montage video on release titles.

My concerns about this thing are still the price. I think some people underestimate the technology this thing is going to have. It will be $300 at the very least (just slightly higher than the Wii).

No one knows the true price, I don't think we should speculate too much on it just yet. I am hopeful of a £100 price tag but I am not sure if we'll get it.

that sounds too cheap if you ask me. this technology is serious. If you want to mass produce something like this, it's going to outbeat the Wii in cost.

edit: just converted 100 pouds to dollars. 150 dollars for THIS thing? that's as cheap as the DS launch! you're crazy now.

You can't do straight conversions GA, economical differences and what not. £100 would be more like $200. There's no way it will go over £200, Microsoft aren't stupid. They're not going to release something stupidly expensive.

I can't see it at that level either. It being expensive wouldn't surprise me, because that technology just simply doesn't look cheap. If it ends up being about as expensive as the Wii was, that sounds like the only realistic area I'll go in.

You have to understand something GA, technology is only released when it becomes affordable, then it goes onto the market. I very much doubt that Microsoft will sell a peripheral device that costs more than the console, that won't happen. I am expecting a price between £100 and £150.
