Gaming tournaments Empty Gaming tournaments

Post by Darren Sat May 15, 2010 3:30 am

How about some gaming tournaments here on the forum? In the past i've hosted some very fun Mario Kart races on the Wii, although not in tournament form, there was a lot of backing for them. Also I hear there were some good Pokemon tournaments in the past, and with HG/SS around, I thought it'd be a good time to have them.

Who would be interested?

I'd run a Mario Strikers Charged tournament but;

a) Not enough people have the game.
b) I put in a fuckbucket of effort for previous tournaments and people were totally uncooperative.
c) I have no time for the next month.

And time and time again, I see little support from you, other than the odd moan. This won't get us any closer to getting some games going.

cheezysplosion, I think a Super Street Fighter Four tournament is a great idea, but i'm not entirely sure how many members have it.

I'd suggest waiting a while before doing one of these. The lack of activity on the forums (though it is rising) combined with exam period means you may not get many people.

This attitude is partly the reason why they fail >_>

I am mostly referring to the Brawl tournaments and the occasional Mario Kart where it was almost impossible to finish/start respectively because people could hardly sign online at the same time.

I was one of the people who had all the time in the world to battle and nothing to very little came across. If telling the truth about what we tend to do with tournaments is a 'detriment' then some of you are in denial. It won't get you any closer than repeating the same mistakes.

btw this is the first time I've even brought this out. I don't know why you're acting like I've mentioned this 100 times or something Darren lol

I'm all for it.

SSFIV on the whole 360 side. I think I'm only the person to own it... You use a PS3 right Cheezy? So Vexan & KZ will most probably be up for that.

I'm thinking a Halo 3 multiplayer league. 1 vs 1, if you win a game then 3 points. I can whip up a table and do fixtures if there is interest, and I know there is 5 of us who have the game as well.

Great news! Got any games? XD

Anyway, I agree with RawkHawk in saying that we probably can't organise much what with exams in the way. But I assume at the end of the month, everything will have cleared up! Very Happy

I'd really look forward to any tournaments we might hold in the future, and hope that they become more sucessful than GhostAnime seems to make out. Razz

If I hold a Strikers tournament it'll be inter-forum and I'll set up a dedicated site/forum (a free one, naturally, you all know me) and invite varius forumgoers from hither and thither to attend. More players = greater possibility for leagues.

That's not helpful! You should get it, there are some good offers around currently!

Say that again after my exams and I'll give you fairer response than "I'm not getting it".

These are A-Levels, Darren. Sure, we don't study all the time, but you need to realise how important these are for our futures.
