Pay a fortune? Is it that expensive? Considering what you spend your money on now anyway? Lol
Also I wouldn't say PSN is the exact same as Live in terms of downloaded content. They don't have all the same content.

Re: 360 or PS3? Help me choose!
Just get both =D
Coming from someone who got neither who was given an Xbox, I personally prefer Xbox (I have play the PS3 alot around Simons). The triggers on the controller actually feel like a trigger and not a soft spongey button.
As a side not. I didn't fork out the £60 for the Wireless adaptor, I just payed £2 for an ethernet cable and connected that from my router to my Xbox wired, It makes no difference whatsoever to the conection speed.
I then shopped around and payed £28 for Gold of Play.com.
So that £100 that Owen stated has suddenly dropped down to £30, sounds a bit more appealing now huh?
And can I just ask what's this injoke about Killzone?

Re: 360 or PS3? Help me choose!
Built in wireless for the Station 3 makes things more tidy in my bedroom which totally rocks!
Have you come to a verdict Darren?

These are GOOD times! Have a look at Heavy Rain. Maybe not be everybodies cup of tea, but I keep hearing good stuff about this game. Demo is out on the PSN Feb 11th, cannot wait for that day to be honest.
Re: 360 or PS3? Help me choose!
Well my two main friends have PS3's and so does my nephew, so that's helpful. I'm going to have a look around for bundles.

Nice. Indeed, shop around till you see a decent deal. I would give Shopto.net a look.
Re: 360 or PS3? Help me choose!
I have an account with Shopto already, so i'll be using that at some point.
I know for certain I have to get Fallout 3, I know it's not an exclusive but at least its something to get. I also want to get Little big planet, I think it's pretty cool.

Re: 360 or PS3? Help me choose!
Well I guess with leaning towards PS3 you like over hyped games that ultimately dissapoint and get shelved after very little play
I'll be enjoying Mass Effect 2, Crackdown 2, Alan Wake, Halo : Reach, Splinter Cell : Conviction, Fable III, Natal, Metro 2033, maybe a Gears of War 3 if it gets released this year

I have no idea what you're talking about Pwii, but I happen to enjoy Fallout 3 a whole lot. You stick to the games you enjoy, i'll stick to mine.

lol I didn't even reference Fallout 3, isn't that multiplatform anyway and a bit of an RPG/Shooter like Mass Effect. So yes you enjoy your games and I'll enjoy the same ones too.
Was just friendly ribbing, can't understand how you missed that from my post

Re: 360 or PS3? Help me choose!
Well personally Darren I think it's better for you to get a 360. Yeah your nephew may have it but that's one guy, and he lives NEAR YOU. Don't know the other two guys so I can't say much on them, but I wouldn't buy the console over very few people. All of your online friends practically have 360s. You're not exactly going to have a true online gaming experience with your friends if you get a PS3.
Also, I'd like to hear what exclusives you'd actually like for the PS3.

Re: 360 or PS3? Help me choose!
I'm not going to buy on that basis, but it's an advantage to have a common basis really. I'm looking into PS3 and 360 exclusives. Can I also say I haven't actually made a 100% choice yet, i'm just leaning towards PS3 more.
Re: 360 or PS3? Help me choose!
PS3!!! You know I have one, especially when I get Call of Duty Tourettes on the mic (My language becomes rather unrestrained on that game.) But yes, PSN is free and its just better full stop. In my opinion.

I've been exposed to your COD Tourettes! I have to admit, the appeal of free online play is good, although 360 does give a fantastic service.

Re: 360 or PS3? Help me choose!
The 'how' better the 360 & PS3 debate will go on for years.
I'll give you more an insight from my point of view.
The 360 is cheap and retails at £187.97 (Elite) on its own. With a game the price can vary, as it depends which retailer you are using. I'll shall use GAME, as my example. £229.97 for the Forza 3 bundle, while you have the Elite verison with Modern Warfare 2 = at £219.99 or Assassins Creed II for £209.99, I will use this bundle to the total cost for Darren if he decides to purchase the 360. Then if Darren wants to have XBL that will mean he needs the Gold subscription which costs at £34.99 (12 months). Wireless is the option he wants so he will have to buy the wireless adapter which = £49.99
Sooo.
Total:
Xbox 360 (Elite) + Assassins Creed II = £209.99
XBL Gold subscription (12 months) = £34.99
Xbox 360 Wireless adapter = £49.99
Total cost = £294.97
Prices via GAME.co.uk
The PS3 has built in wireless. The PSN is free and you have the same games as the 360 and pretty much the same games coming onto the PSN, Braid is on the PSN and Castle Crashers will be on the PSN sometime this year. I will once again use GAME as the example of the price front. PS3 slim with Bayonetta at £269.99. The PS3 slim on its own you are looking at £249.99. If you want a mic, I would personally go for the offical headset which is priced at = £24.99
Total:
PS3 Slim + Bayonetta = £269.99
Offical headset = £24.99
Total cost = £294.98
So all in all, the PS3 is dearer by just 1p....
I really do dislike the whole PS3 is better than 360 or the 360 is better than the PS3. Its complete utter bullshit to be honest. I also own a 360 but I don't want XBL, as I can get the same amount of content and play online for free. In long run I will have saved more money buying the PS3 than the 360, as when your 12 months subscription is up you have to repay £34.99 each year.
I hope it helps Darren.

Re: 360 or PS3? Help me choose!
The prices certainly did help, thanks for that! I knew of the wireless adapter, and I would most certainly be going wireless if I did. This was something that really annoyed me when I found out I had to pay to have a wireless system, plus pay for my online experience.
I also really want a Bluray player at some point, so add that as a benefit too.

Thanks very much I don't dislike either of them. I just also prefer the PS3 over the 360, but I will be getting ME2 soon
No problem Darren. After knuckling down on the spec and exclusives, its the price front which is the problem as of the budget and then you can go off and find games you have missed at a cheap price. Yup, the Blu-ray player also adds to the benefit of the PS3. The only good thing what makes the 360 more out there is the XBL. Because it does have a better infrastructure online than compared to the PSN. Saying that, the PSN is free and is a perfect infrastructure for being free. You must give credit when its due.
