360 or PS3? Help me choose!

EDIT: In all seriousness however, let's re-ask the question about what you want based on their main feature only...

Do you want the superb online experience on the 360, or do you want the indie powerhouse that is the PS3? XD

I say 'powerhouse' because i believe if Sony get their act together, the PS3 will be ULTIMATELY futureproof.

Ok guys, after looking back through this, reading the comments, gathering feedback and knowledge and talking to people who have owned these consoles for a long time, I have come to my decision.

Tomorrow I plan to buy a 360, if not tomorrow then at some point in the very near future. I would like to thank everyone that has helped me get to this decision, and I hope to see you online.

Just to confirm, I did buy my 360 tonight, and although I can't connect my Laptop to it, I managed to set it up downstairs temp. I'll be getting a wireless adapter next week, pity they're so expensive though

Don't bother. If you really need to get online absolutely don't buy a wireless adapter. Those things are just one of the ways to totally con you out of more of your hard earned pennies. If you're struggling doing a network bridge then I'll give you a hand, even if I do think you made a mistake buying a 360 at this point in time.

I don't care if they do, I don't need a full priced 360 console just for the sake of it being a bit lighter ^_^

The bridge won't work until I get a new pc/laptop or until I do a full re-install of windows on this laptop, as certain files are corrupted during the windows installation. So try as you might, it will not work Owen.

I've been recently pondering the same question (basically), as to get a 360 in replacement for my PS3. It's been a big struggle trying to make my mind up about the whole thing, with som many conflicting opinions flying about (not here, mostly in the skype chatroom).

Basically: I plan to trade in my PS3 to replace it with a 360. Your thoughts.

As long as your thoughts are your own, don't be influenced and really think it through. Ensure you're getting the best deal going...shop around for a better trade in price..

Do what you can, save what you can and most importantly choose what will give you the most enjoyment.....or just get a 360 ^5

I've done this b4 and not regretted it, tho to be fair I've got a couple hundred quid burning a hole in my pocket and am sorely tempted to pick up another PS3

Haha, after hearing Ben's reasons for it, I am happy for him to go ahead and do it, I just hope he can afford the price of Gold.

But Owen, like i've said before..even for a lighter console, i'd rather keep the Elite anyway. If it's a brand new xbox all together then I might be a little annoyed..but for now, i'm happy to own a console that i'll have a good few years enjoying with my friends. I'm sure Ben and anyone else will get the same enjoyment.

I will say once again though to Ben, are you sure you want to give up the PS3 and Metal Gear Solid 4? I know you love it..
