Ipod Touch gaming

Should be getting one of these tomorrow.

Anyone recommend some good free apps and games

There's loads of good apps. Don't do what I did and get loads at once, you won't use them all. Strangely enough, the one I use the most is Solitaire. Other good apps are Bloons Tower Defense, FML, MLIA, I Can Has Cheezburger and Minesweeper. These are my most-used apps. Also, Facebook is always good.

Tweetdeck is a good app to keep yourself updated with Twitter, you can create columns for different lists such as just your DM's and just your mentions. You can even list on Facebook, and with a few clicks you can update Twitter and Facebook with the same status. One of the best apps that do this kind of thing out there, definately get it!

Sky news is great for news, it loads fast and can even provide video.

Ebuddy is a good all in one messenger, that's a must have.

As Alex said, the Facebook app is pretty good.

Other apps you should try are Photofunia, Stealth, Lineup2 (great game), Live poker, Mafia Wars and of course, Tap tap revenge!

Oh shush Darren. You speak as if you don't know all the games that I adore that don't have great graphics.

On an ipod touch, I think it's impressive to see such good graphics on a device which was intended primarily as a tool for listening to music and watching videos.

It's not like I mentioned graphics as the only redeeming factor of each game I mentioned.

You'd think I'd have thrown my wii in a bin and purchased a ps3 if I was truly such a graphics whore.

What Gen have you guys got? I'm looking at getting a 2nd Gen, but may push the boat out for a 3rd if it offers significant advantages.

3rd generation ipods are your best bet, I would suggest waiting for a short while as OS4 is about to be announced, and it should be included in the brand new ipods. However, if you get it now, you'll be paying about £5.99 for the software update. It's a small price, but it's one you could be saving on.

Cost is a factor tho, will be trading my Wii in at CEX for one lol

When are these new iPods meant to be coming out Darren? The 3rd Gen Touches came out late last year I think, and I've been holding off buying one because I know that as soon as I do they'll announce an updated version. I'm also not going to be buying without haggling.

My advice to you, is not to take your Wii in to just one place. Ensure you shop around for the best possible price and deal. Try Gamestation, Game, Cash Converters and CeX. Any other pawnbroker. Get the best price you can.

I am unsure if a new ipod is coming, I am refering to the operating system update, you can buy it from itunes, but normally once a new OS is released, it is a standard on all new ipods. Keep an eye out for apple announcements soon, I am sure it's coming.

Rumours of an iPhone 4g (does that mean new iPod touch?) I'll keep you guys posted!

Sonic 2's been released on iPod Touch, just noticed. Probably was ages ago, I don't check the app store thoroughly. If it's like Sonic 1 for iPod, it'll be fun.
