Super Mario Galaxy 2 Empty Super Mario Galaxy 2

Post by Darren Thu Feb 11, 2010 8:20 am

I'm surprised we haven't had a topic on this yet!

So far, all we have is a trailer from E3 last year with a few bits and pieces. However, according to Ghost, who told me this news earlier..at the upcoming Nintendo conference at the end of February, Some more Mario Galaxy 2 details will be coming. Will it be announced that Sonic will be in Mario Galaxy 2 afterall? Shocked

Will you be buying this game?

It doesn't have a topic because Mario fans don't speculate wildly about Mario games.

Haha Nice

Too be fair, I've had Super Mario Galaxy for over a year now.... and not played it more than once... and it wasn't for that long.

It just didn#t interested me at all, Sunshine had the same effect.

I like my Mario like I like my Sonic. Sidescrollin'

I did enjoy Super Mario Galaxy, but I would love a Mario adventure such as Galaxy with the likes of co-op with somebody playing as Luigi.

Hopefully this one will change my expectations over the first, as I couldn't get into it as much as those saying "best Mario game ever". I still prefer 64 over it, and not for nostalgic purposes (as I played the game at least 10 years after it was released for the first time).

Did you play it before SMG though? Because if you did, then it could still be referred to as nostalgia... unless you played it like just a short while before Galaxy, in which case I dunno. Razz

I've not played too much of SMG, but from what I have it seems pretty awesome to me.

One thing that has me on edge is Yoshi in SMG2... he really wasn't done all that well in Sunshine, and I'm hoping they improve him for this one. It'll be nice to see some more trailers later on.

No, I don't count nostalgia as part of it, as I'm not even that big of a Mario fan anyway. To me, nostalgia is when you get a somewhat heartwarming feeling when playing a game you played long ago. I don't get that with 64. t was just more fun to me. It was just more fun to me.

What's with the stupidly big gap in dates? These days big games releasing more than a week apart in now different regions is pretty much unheard of.

It's only approximately 2/3 weeks, which isn't stupidly big Razz

Anyways, This will probably be the game I'll get in June, unless something even better comes out. I'm not super omg-hyped. I didn't love the first, but I'll still have fun with it ^_^

2/3 weeks is nothing, in fact it's shorter than it used to be!

It's definately a day one buy for me, I love Mario Galaxy!

Not really, there's still loads of games released with massive gaps. These days, games are released closer together, and often, we get games before America (Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Picross 3D, etc).

Never played 1 to be honest, don't think 2 will change this.

Fun commercial though.

It's a nice cover!

Even though I stand by my claim that Galaxy was the best game ever made, I was extremely dubious about Galaxy 2 when it was announced because it seemed a lazy and cheap knock-off game they came up with at the last minute (especially since it was just "2") simply because the original game was successful. However, I'm warming to it despite seeing very little gameplay.

Whatever happens, it was always going to be awesome.

I second that, the boxart is truly glorious.

Also, CONOR: Do you actually plan to buy this, or wait for the next Call of Duty? >_>
