Super Mario Galaxy 2

I love this game so damn much.

So the game has been released about a month or so now, what does everyone think to it? I personally feel it's a very nice game, a bit more of a challenge than the first, especially after you've obtained 120 stars...but I won't spoil that too much if you haven't played the game yet!

The music is great once again, although not as strong as the first game. It's still fully orchestrated though and there are some themes that have been brought back from a previous Mario title that are fantastic!

I'll admit though, the final boss was still too easy =/

So, I'm considering buying this game. Do you think I should get it over most other Wii games?

First reactions: Excellent game, generally better than the first. However, I can't even bring myself to getting all the stars once on this game. I managed to get all 120 stars once on Mario Galaxy 1, I'm at about 70 on this one and don't feel motivated at all to get the rest. It's hard to judge really.

Definately buy it, it's amazing!

It's obsessed with fat things, the bosses are fat and there's also a fat luma!

Or I could get Fat Princess

Still, I wouldn't mind getting this game, but I'm hoping it goes down by the end of July.

Doubtful for a Mario game

Purple coin levels are the evillest things in existence!

True, but with ShopTo, it's possible.

If you're recommended 30 or so games of course it is XD I would just play a friends copy or something, see if you like it.

I liked the first one better (you can go ahead and slap me now). Getting all 121 stars with both characters (yes, 121, not 120), was pretty hard, and I breezed through galaxy 2 (no pun intended: see cloud mario). The green stars were way easier than people made then out to be, and the story was almost non-existent! It recycled the exact same story from the first, and pretended the first never happened (I know mario isn't about the story, but COME ON!). Ok, my rant is over, sorry for that...

It's because in Galaxy 2, Galaxy 1 never did happen, if you read up about it a bit it's something to do with different dimensions.

Don't worry, you make a valid point. As much as I love all the additions in SMG2, it just didn't have the same impact as the first game. I mean the original was announced when the Wii was introduced to the world back at E3 2006 it was a startling revelation, a new Mario game for a new console generation.
