Metroid: Other M
What a way to kick off the Nintendo board with a topic on Metroid: Other M eh?
This is the latest game in the long running Metroid franchise. So far, only a trailer and a small amount of information has been released. Nintendo and Team Ninja are working together on this one to bring a new and different Metroid game that has promiced to be one hell of an experience.
As a huge Metroid fan, there is no disputing that I did in fact joygasm at the annoucement of this game. The trailer really shocked me, it was the last thing I was expecting to come. I have to admit since no new information has come since then, apart from knowing that it's still set for release in 2010, my hype has dropped slightly, but is still there a little. I know for a fact as soon as new screenshots, video footage or news comes, i'll be straight back hyping it up (most likely in this very topic).
What are your thoughts on this game? Discuss!

So by being too lazy to click a link you expect people to click on a spoiler tag?
Technically it requries MORE effort, as people would have had to scroll down a bit more to see your post

Komodo Zero - 1
Ghost - 0.
But wait, Ghost made the forum! Ghost wins be default!
Anyway. Metroid has never been a big interest of mine, currently playing through the Prime trilogy on Wii. Only completed Prime 3 before, I do intend to get this game however! Providing it gets the good reviews we all hope for, of course.

It's a Metroid game, even the worst game in the series is still pretty damn fun. Yoshio Sakamoto is watching Team Ninja from behind the bushes outside their offices, waiting to pounce on any mistake or irregularity that occurs during development.

Re: Metroid: Other M
Agreed.
Also, summer release penned for the Japanese version. By the looks of things, the US and EU versions will follow shortly afterwards.
Seems like a break in tradition though, the west usually get a Metroid title before Japan does. Maybe Team Ninja's influence deems it worth publishing in Japan first?

I am hoping that the release between US and EU will be short, and I hope we do get it this year. Traditionally though, Metroid games normally do get a delay, which is why I was surprised Ninty and Ninja said they were on schedule o_o
Re: Metroid: Other M
We'll probably get some more E3 coverage in June, and maybe that demo they promised months ago too...

I was expecting that demo so much more sooner, hence why I got excited by the Nintendo Power article, which ended up been just a rehash of news we already knew and speculation. Tip: Don't bother buying official Nintendo magazines, they suck.

Haven't bought a gaming magazine in years now. The internet is faster and is generally better written XD

Re: Metroid: Other M
What does everyone want to see from Metroid: Other M?
The game is said to be focused on Samus' story, and will feature Adam and such... what would you like to see? I personally would love to see the climax of Super Metroid as the opening for Other M, it'd be perfect!

It's not nearly hyped enough to be considered overhyped by a long shot. All the excitement from E3 has died down by now.

I agree, but some of it came back earlier today when I saw the japanese site
Re: Metroid: Other M
I'd agree there, but I've become more reserved in the past year so it's not an "omgomgomgomgomg" moment anymore.
It's actually benificial to be reserved. Games seem to come along quicker that way, rather than being tense for what seems like forever.

Re: Metroid: Other M
I have to admit, the time between the announcement of Other M and now, has flown past. I can't believe we're in 2010 actually. 2009 went so quickly for me, not sure about everyone else.. but January of this year has gone very slow and hasn't been too great.
Re: Metroid: Other M
I wonder if you'll be able to DO A BARREL ROLL?
I'm not going to lie, I am still quite interested in it. To be frank, I need a proper game to get me playing the Wii again, I literally haven't touched it for about four months.
