The Nintendo 3DS!

I have no doubt at all that it cost millions and millions to make. Research and development costs a bomb, but the actual product, I'm sure, will be sold at a profit, as is the nintendo was, so assuming - as Darren says - that the price is £180, it would probably cost them a few pounds less to make.

We know one thing, Nintendo isn't stupid when it comes to money circumstances like this. They wont release something no one can afford

To be fair, you can buy an iPod Touch and a DSi for the same price. Well, not after the DSi price cuts. If you compare it to products such as the iPad though, then yeah, it's ridiculous.

Remember the Wii? People thought it'd be £250 to £300, and it was £180. Nintendo will go down the 'affordable' route.

People thought the Wii was going to be sub £150.

As for Apple half the price of the product is for the name alone and would probably come in 150 quid cheaper if produced by Nintendo.

Apple are very much a style over substance company.

Thing is all the Windows 7 based tablets comming out look exactly like the iPad, so style alone won't work for it then.

But back to the 3DS, if they find a way to display the probable 2 screens as a single screen then I would likey V. much

Seems March 2011 is the date for the 3DS.

All I'm really interested in is the price at this point in time, I already know it's awesome XD

Reggie says the date will be be before 31st Mach, Thus it will launch in America on the 28th, the closest Monday to that date without going into April, same as a sub-$250 Wii was promised and the price was $249.99.

So .. what will the price of 3DS be?

I'd expect a price of around £179.99 / $199.99 but that's not confirmed, just my estimate.

I'd say around that too, but I'm trying to not get myself too surprised. Before the Wii's price was revealed, people were estimating around £250.

My logic is that they'll make it higher than the DSiXL which was £159.99 due to more technology, yet keeping it affordable i'd say £179.99 but I wouldn't be surprised if it was £199.99...however also keep in mind that they've then doubled the price of their first DS system.

That's decent logic, except the DSi XL was £150, wasn't it?

I'm pretty sure it was £159.99, priced £10 above the DSi which was £149.99. I don't see how a second gen DS could be double its original, to be fair I don't see how they could price it at the same price of a Wii.

Ah, you were right. Still, it's possible for them to price it the same as the Wii. I mean, it's a massive hardware jump.

Paper Mario!

As much as I like Ocarina of Time and Paper Mario, I already own them. I'm looking most forward to the next Kid Icarus game - it's about time Pit got a new game (as long as the eggplant wizards are toned down ¬¬).

In fact, aren't most of the announced titles so far simply remakes with 3D? Fair enough, I can accept that it's completely new technology, so using existing games is pretty much an experiment to see if it works, but I'd like to see new IPs as well (I guess it will be inevitable later on).
